...she sang a delightful rendition of "Bare Necessities", in a soothing, mellow tone, dare I say "jazzy", and with plently of amusing facial expressions...she looked like she was really having fun with it :)...this is one of the songs from her new CD, "Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust".
She also sang another tune...but they cut it short to go to commercial (go figure!) =I
Of course, they commented on her great performance in Xanadu, as well.
Gee, there seems to be so much "buzz" about Xanadu lately, that I almost feel like going to see it Anyone see Kerry Butler this morning, CBS Morning Show?

Tony Award Nominee Performs Songs From Her Debut Album, "Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust"

"In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." Sherie Rene Scott

Yep, very jazzy, and I love the CD. The arrangements are very good !! These songs have been performed by so many groups/people, and normally the same way, so she wanted to go in a different direction to make them sound fresh.

Too bad they wasted so much time repeating weatherman Lonny Quinn's feeble attempts to catch a football they didn't have time left to show more than 10 seconds of Kerry's "Suspended in Time" which really pissed me off.

...and Testing, she succeeded, IMHO. I"ve always loved "Bare Necessities", anyways (BIG "jungle Book" and Boy fan :), and her rendition was really, really nice. It is worth taking chances when doing material already heard, and making it your own (man, am I sounding like the Idol judges now...=I

jeffrey...AGREE...time was miserably misplaced on Lonny's antics.
I don't get how execs make these bad decisions. Kerry had a bigger audience :{

I wish they'd uploaded "Suspended in Time" too...
