Anyone think Neil Patrick Harris is a good Musical Theatre Performer

Just wondering, since Neil made the leap from small screen to big screen to the stage if anyone thinks he's any good.

I saw him in Sweeney Todd in Concert in LA
and RENT as MArk in LA

I actually thought he was awesome as MArk and quite good as Tobias.

He was recently in Cabaret as Emcee, and might be in the upcoming revival of Assassins. Any comments? Updated On: 7/14/03 at 05:12 PM

Actually I enjoyed his performance as Tobias Ragg in the concert of "Sweeny Todd"!

I thought he did an excellent job as the Emcee in Cabaret. His "I Don't Care Much" was better than the others I'd seen/heard. He sings well, and his acting was also good.

I just heard that he's good, except his Emcee's not that good at all. He looks great for the part, though. With Neil you never know. I was so unsure of him playing my favorite role, Mark, but he sure tackeld it and brought new depths to the character. :)

As far the emcee goes, most people I have heard from loved him in the role.

I thought he was very good as Mark in Rent.

I saw him as Mark and thought he was just wonderful! Who knew back in the day that Doogie could sing? Really though, I saw him when Rent was HUGE and he was in the premire tour in La Jolla. I thought he really brought a lot to the character and his voice was perfect!

I saw him play the Emcee in CABARET.

He blew me away. I never expected him to be so good in that role. He completely commanded the stage and had the audience in the palm of his hand.

I was shocked by how much I enjoyed him in Cabaret. He really brought something different to the role. He was not as dark and sinister as Raul, but he has a lovely voice and was really quite funny. I wasn't amazed by him, but I definately wasn't disappointed either. I think he's an above average performer that could really blow you away in the right role.

Yes, I definitely think he's great. I hadn't seen him in theatre before Cabaret, just films and TV, so I was completely unprepared. I really enjoyed him as the Emcee. He's very funny and dances/moves Beautifully! Very sensual and sexy. He's not my favorite Emcee, but I'd highly recommend him to anyone seeing the show.
I really want to get ahold of the Sweeney Todd concert, I hear he's fantastic.

Well the rumors could be rumors but i think he was dating a male member of the tour of Rent at the time. What he is now? Who knows. And who really cares, he's a great actor, and great performer. Updated On: 7/25/03 at 05:36 PM
