Does anyone else find this rendition of the Loesser song moving and powerful? The full GREENWILLOW score isn't widely known, but does anyone here who performs ever use "Never Will I Marry" as audition material or in club show? (Or around the piano?) I recently recommended to a young actor. It was recorded by Judy Garland in the early 60s, but is seldom heard anymore. Haunting little song.

Yes, Perkin's passionate rendition of the song stirs the emotions and his own brand of neurotic energy gives it extra punch. I've recommended it to performers but, unless one is aware of the song's context, it's a difficult to pull off without resorting to maudlin self-pity.
