We are looking to go see Wicked but it's expensive. Has anyone see it from the Rear Mezz? Was it worth it?

Thanks!

No, they are horrible.

Seriously, why do people have to ask this question EVERY FARKIN' day?

Do a search or somethin'.

I sat in the rear mezz and had no problems whatsoever. I didn't miss a thing. The set is so massive, it really isn't too far away.

I haven't seen it from rear mezz but if you haven't seen it at all...ANY seat is good. After that you might want to see it again from close range.. That's what I did...

yeah, there isn't really a bad seat in the whole theatre. you won't be able to see the faces of the actors (duh) but you don't miss anything, because the set and the numbers are so big.

There is not a bad seat in the whole theatre? At the Gershwin? LOLOLOLOLOLOL.
That theatre is massssssive, and if you sit in the back, you might as well sit in the parking lot across the street because your view will be about the same.

Matt - even the view from across the seat is good...Its a wonderful musical that should be seen at least once by all theatre lovers even if its the last seat of the last row..

I agree that the show is pretty good, but you should not tell people to waste good money on bad seats. That Gerwin theatre is ridiculous. I had house seats, which ended up being the front row of the Mezz, center, and seriously, the Mezz is so far back from the stage that even those seats were not really all that.

Yeah, I sat front row of the mezzanine and was cutting myself. So I guess if you don't have any sort of standards and have $50 to burn, then GOR FOR IT!!(or don't and just send the 50 my way), but if you're expecting to make out something more than shapes and colors, I'd advise against it.

And yeah....this question does come up a LOT.

Yeah, I'm with Matt.

At the Gershwin, if you sit behind row M or so in the orchestra, you may as well not be there.

AIDA- I see you just joined today. Welcome. Sorry about the imediate bashing of your question, but yes it does come up a lot. No, the seats are not worth the price at that distance. $100 is not expensive to see a Broadway Musical these days. I advise you to wait until you can afford better seats. It will be worth it.

The seats are fine. I sat last row, you can see everything fine. If you have good eyes, you can see the faces. I'd sit there again.

The GA Is Silent,
why can't the rest of you be silent?Neither of your posts were helpful(or even clever).Aida asked a valid question-if it annoys you so much, don't answer it.And Aida, get the mezz tix if it's all you can afford-but bring binoculors.

You can see the faces in rear mezzanine? You must have superman's eyesight. The theater is huge. I sat in the 13th row and wish I were closer. Save your money until you can afford better seats. Personally, I liked Dracula better than Wicked.

The Rear Mezz is where the flying monkeys poop. If you don't pay $100, you're fair game for Idina and the gang.

I sat in the fourth to last row the first time I saw it and it was perfectly fine. The stage isn't THAT far away. You can see everything and you get a good view. Go for it, epecially if that is all you can afford and you want to see the show, which I would recommend doing because it is a great show.

I once saw Phantom of the Opera, a fairly large scale show, from the VERY back row- no exaggeration, no joke- and I really didn't miss much. I wanted to see the performers faces better, but it didn't affect the show much. Just my two cents.

Don't know about Wicked (though I did see it from the front of the mezz and it was fine) but I've seen other shows from the back row and they were just fine. Not perfect of course, you can't see the actors expressions, but its stil decent.

The gershwin is very poorly designed; you might as well be in a football stadium no matter where you sit. Even the front row is awfull because the stage is so giant you can barely see anything.
