Did anyone get to see the 1989 Papermill workshop of Arthur The Musical?
Has anyone ever seen or heard anything from the show?
Based on the Dudley Moore- Liza Minnelli movie, the musical is by David Krane, Marta Kauffman, and Michael Skloff, who went on to create Friends.
I know "The Memory Of Tonight" is one tune that is less obscure than the rest.
Does anyone know who was in the 1989 workshop? I think it was Gregg Edelman and Judy Blazer, in the leads... Who else?
What happened on the road to Broadway for this one?

I saw it at Marriott Lincolnshire (near Chicago).
One problem is that the script is pretty much the movie screenplay, word for word, and much of the audience knew the jokes before they happened.
For example, when Arthur said, "Hobson, I'm going to take a bath", three guys in the row in front of me said "I'll alert the media" in unison with Hobson.
And honestly, without Dudley Moore, is alcoholism really funny anymore?
