People who have seen the show said that her performance this morning did not reflect her performance on stage very well (except for the apparent accent issue). Based on what they've said, I wouldn't worry...which I'm not, I'm going next week as well and couldn't be more excited.

How terribly rude of you to base judgement on ONE performance at 8:20 on a frigid morning.

See the show first before you decide whether you hate her or not. Or, better yet, sell your tickets and don't see the show.

For the third time from me in as many threads, aside from minor minor accent issues, she's damn near perfect in the role. I was skeptical at first but Disney got the casting right on this one. I quite frankly couldn't imagine many other current Broadway actresses in the role actually.

You only saw one song from the entire show and are already bashing her character. See the show first and you will see how "Practically Perfect" she is for the role.

Ashley Brown.. Mary Poppins? YES YES YES. Without a doubt! Do not judge her without seeing the show. She was perfect in the role when I saw her last weekend.

But still you are basing your judgement on what? You have yet to see the show and already you feel as though she is the wrong choice.

I thought she was incredible! The show looks like a lot of fun! In about a week there is going to be a whole segment about her on The Early Show. Ashley Brown, I mean.

I'm a big Laura Michelle kelly fan I thought she looked and sounded the part to a tee

WTF? What are you trying to say? You said you haven't seen the show and you saw the Today Show and you think she was horrible. Then, you said that you didn't judge her just from that video clip. Where else did you see her perform? And how rude for you to call Yankeefan (who has seen the show) stupid, and criticizing Ashley Brown BEFORE you've seen the show...

What is wrong with you?

Don't even post anything about it until you've actually seen the show.

Let me start by saying I have not seen her in Poppins yet (I saw the London production). However, I did see her when I revisited "Beauty and the Beast" and she was WONDERFUL!! I was shocked at how beautiful her voice was. I cannot imagine her being bad in "Poppins" but again I have not seen it. Next week!

I haven't seen her in Poppins either but I will say she was the only reason I did not leave "On the Record" during intermission. A very talented young actress.

I thought she did a fine job on that performance. Weren't they just lip-synching to pre-recorded music?

I saw the show on October 28th and thought Ashley did a fine job... I really don't think you can determine if you like her by watching her on one TV performance. I thought she was great and am returning to the show in July..

I saw it last week and found her practically perfect, she was on and so in character the entire night. No accent flaws that performance.

Ashley's fine, she'll grow into the role, just give her time. The show is still in previews...

If it was a pre-recorded track, then it being early in the morning has nothing to do with it.

I'm reserving final judgement till I see her perform again. I don't know if I will ever see her in the show itself because I haven't gotten to NYC yet.

I have not see the broadway cast appart from the clip on the Today show but I have seen the London cast four times, I liked Ashley in that I agree her accent is a little weird but a good performance..she reminded me a little of Scarlett Strallen! As far as the show is concerned I think is fantastic, from the scenary to the costumes!!

I have only seen Ashley Brown on the Today show, but she looked pretty darn good. Her accent was a little awkward at some points, but that takes practice.

wow thats pretty deep...did ya get that off a bumper sticker?

I wonder weather she will ever come to the UK and star in the London production, I would love to see her performance of "Brimstone and treacle" partII one of my favourite moments of the whole show!!
