I am throwing together a trip to NY to see Millie one last time so I figured I would stop by Assassins.
Being a poor college student, I have limited options, so, does anyone know if all seating is good for Assassins?
Please respond quickly as I need to do this NOW. I just want to make sure I can at least see!
Students can get really good seats for the show. Check out playbill.com they have the info you're looking for.
All I am seeing there is Rush tickets and Standing ones.
Am I missing something?
I am fine with buying tickets now, I just need to make sure that I can still see if I am in the back of the balcony.
I've sat in the very last row of Studio 54 and been happy with my seats. Of course, if you can get right down front it's a much different experience at that theater.
So, worth 50 bucks to be in the back of the balcony?
No, when I go to the theater, I usually only do rush or standing room seats. When I do rush at Studio 54, I pay 25 dollars and usually sit somewhere in the front of the Mezz.
Is that not risky though? What's the best way to go about getting those?
Personally, I've never had a problem getting tickets as long as I'm at the box office by the time they go on sale. I believe it's 2 hours before showtime, however check with them because I could be wrong. The earlier you get there the better the seats are that you get. Again, I've gotten rush in the front of the Mezz and in the very last row of the theater.
i personally dislike the rush seating at studio 54 and would rather shell out an extra 20 bucks at TKTS to sit anywhere in the orchestra. the mezz is so high that you're about level to the top of the stage and i feel like everything moves in slow motion up there. anyway, you can get rush tickets when the theater opens and that is where i sat for assassins and had no problem seeing the show. i was, however, wishing i was in the orchestra the whole time because of my own personal hang-ups with the mezz being so high.
Having ushered for Assassins for the second time last night, I can honestly tell you that any seat on the Mezz including the last row NN has a great view. They have been sold out for the past several perfomances, so you'll probably need to do Rush, or even a General Admission ticket, which gaurantees you a seat, it's just not an assigned one & you're seated right before curtain.
But do what you have to do to see it, it's definitely worth it.

I've set at both the tables and the last row of the mezz. The mezzinine has GREAT sightlines and very little (although some is) is lost up there.
And on a personal note, it's fun being up there thinking of all that went on in the Studio hayday.
Just my opinion, I may be wrong
twogaab2, it's funny you said that because sitting up there and looking around that's all I could think of also
Is Rush first come, first served?
I just want to make sure I get to see it!!
I really love the first 4 rows of the 54 mezzanine. I sat in row CC for 'Assassins', and I can't think of a better place to see this fabulous show.
(the lighting design deserves to be seen from that perspective, if you're a lighting-lover like me)
Yeah, I've been in the orchestra and in the last row of the Mezz for this show...the lighting can be seen (and appreciated) much more from the Mezz, but I still love Orchestra for this, as long as you're not the last seats on the left or the right because then there's a little bit of blocking of vision. If you're in the Orch, row F is fun, especially if you have a bad back because those other chairs can be killers when sitting for a long period of time. At least they killed my back.

We used a discount offer to get 25% of tickets in the Mezz. We had centre row HH for $46. Good views from there. I believe the offer was on playbill.com, if not it would have been on theatermania.com !
Same here twogaab2 & Matt_G talk about a building with way bad karma!!
B
bad or BAD?
I like that kind of Karma. :)
I saw Assassins from the last row of the mezzanine and still was able to see and hear everything. Although my neck started hurting cuz i was leaning foward (on the edge of my seat as if in anticipation :) )
I sat in the last row of orchestra last week, and the view was fine, although some very important things were cut off. I would try to get up a little closer in the orchestra, or up in the mezzanine, where I've heard the view is great.
Like someone else said, it's most definitely worth it. The show is fabulous.
