i know there are a million of these threads, but i'm like going insane here, so please if you can help i would REALLY appreciate it!
I have an audition tomorrow for Little Shop. I'm shooting for one of the urchins, but i can't figure out a song to sing AT ALL! I'm going insane. I want something upbeat. They said not to sing something from the show as well. I'm a soprano, but can belt really high too.
The problem is that i only have a limited number of broadway books:
~AIDA
~Mamma Mia!
~Hairspray
~RENT
~Wicked
~Les Miserables
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much!

Maybe something from Hairspray, like a Penny solo possibly.

okk! thanks!!
anyone else? please? save me from going crazy...well....save me from my crazy state!
I'd say "strongest suit" or "i know the truth" from AIDA
or...if you really trust your singing you could try "on my own" but it is WAY overdone(take it from a man who has sat behind the table many times) and will only affect the auditioners if it is done really well (or done right after a horrible audition)
BREAK A LEG WITH THE AUDITION!
if you have any other questions PM me, I have directed this show in the past.

I would say something from Aida as well. Those two songs would be good.
Is there a certain number of measures or a whole song?
I would say..."My strongest suit" from Aida.. or "out Tonight" from RENT? Not sure.. i'm a guy..and thats what I would sing if I were a girl..LOL
