I'm a soprano, and I'm auditioning for the part of Audrey in the musical "Little Shop of Horrors," in the coming weeks, but unfortunately I'm having some trouble finding a good piece to showcase my high range and that will fit the nasaly, bronx-accent of the character Audrey. I am completely open to suggestions, so any help you could offer would be fantastic!

There have been fifty kerjillion threads on this topic.

Do a search. I'm sure you'll find SOMETHING.

Just a note, though - "Adelaide's Lament" from Guys and Dolls is quite a good example of that kind of song, though probably overdone as an audition piece for Audrey.

I would also say Adelaids Lament but I despise the song as an audition as it is overdone....

What about "I Want to Be Bad" by DeSylva, Brown, and Henderson from "Follow Through"? It is definitely conducive to the nasaly accent, and to my knowledge is not overdone. It should fit your range, as I am a soprano and have sung it. It does have a few belty sections, but if you feel capable to sing Audrey I'm sure it's nothing you can't handle. It's an older song, so it won't reflect the 60's style of LSOH, but it is in the same vein as "Adelaide's Lament" in humor and range.
