Scenerio: You're a charactor actor. You're auditioning for "The Wizard of Oz", primarily for the role of the Lion. The director already knows you and has heard you sing 100 times before, and this is more of a formality, although you truly do want the part, and wish to give a good audition. WHAT on earth do you sing for a "Wizard of Oz" audition for the role of the Lion??

sing "if I only had the nerve" from the show. if the director knows you, he'll know whether he wants you in the role or not, why not just give him what he wants to see.

I wouldnt reckomend singing anything from the actuall show. The people auditioning u will have likely heard the songs from the show 200 times other people who have auditioned b4 u. U also run the risk that the director will know the song inside out, and therefor, allow u far less room for slip ups. I would suggest either 'be a lion', or 'Mean old Lion' from 'The Wiz'

I'd suggest that you sing a song that you love -- whatever shows your unique sense of humor best. Show them what makes you stand out from the rest and how you would make the role funny in *your* way.
