its very dark i guess you can say in some parts, but it has so much variety vocally and emotionally that i really think would fit for an audition.

i get a good minute for the audition. I really don't mind what role I get, but the director keeps asking me to please audition. Vocally I am a tenor/baritone.

well if you feel good about that song then do it, but as a director i would think that you aren't able to accurately gauge the type of material you're going to need to be able to deal with if you're cast as one of the leads.

I dont know what production you are auditioning for, but the current Broadway tour, believe it or not, wants to you act/sing rather than just sing. Just belting 16 bars wont do it. Find something with personality with acting chops. Jason Robert Brown music is difficult to pick and play for a pianist, unless were talking a Broadway caliber audition. A nice baritone number that I use that has an acting base along with some power is Her Face from Carnival. The problem with doing Saigon or Weber, is that it is done to DEATH. Good luck with whatever you choose!
