Posted: 8/19/04 at 7:30pmI just got back from The Passion of George W. Bush, and the actor playing Jeb was *gasp* black! There were dramatic reasons for this (he was the always-ignored brother), but what do the rest of you think?

If it's based on a real person, it gets very iffy. I would rather stick with the same racial qualities if the characters are real people.
OE: Ignored brother? Does the show imply that Bush ignores blacks? Just wondering.

Posted: 8/19/04 at 8:30pmNo, it's just that the whole family except for Jeb was white. The fact that "Jeb" was black showed how he was always kind of left out. There were some jokes that kind of referenced it, too. I'm pretty sure it was a deliberate choice on the part of the creative team.

So...now we can't say it's ok for Audra to play a commonly "white" role cause this is a grey area and there are no standards.
God. The more I read the shallow minded messages here, the sicker I become.
Just like a racist to play the old "no I aint'" card.
