sorry to be so awfully out of it, but can you guys give me some info on the new michael john LaChiusa
show with audra at roundabout. thanks
louis
hmm? Audra's doing 110 in the Shade at the Roundabout next spring but that isn't Michael John LaChiusa. Is that what you're talking about?
The title of this thread made my scratch my head. I'd recommend a strategically placed dash make between the two names; otherwise it looks like you've made a wedding announcement.
The Michael John LaChiusa show Audra did on Broadway a while back was called "Marie Christine"; though "110 in the Shade" was written by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones (creators of "The Fantasticks") and it is not a new production, but a revival.
For the mostpart, "110 in the Shade" is based on N. Richard Nash's play "The Rainmaker". The story follows Lizzie Curry, a woman living in the American west on ranch with her family. A conman finds his way into town and claims to be a rainmaker and can end the drought in the town.

He seems to be pumping them out latly, so who knows, though I would imagine someone on here would know about it. I wish they could get a production of Little Fish going or a concept album or something.
His new peice is titled Hotel C'est L'Amor and is set for this fall in LA I believe. I'm very jealous and excited to hear about it. He has been pumping 'em out hasn't he? It's been wonderful. I've said it before but I can't say it enough how much I would DIE for a Little Fish recording. It's a great score (well all of his are but still...) Hope Hotel makes it to the east coast sometime soon. Also I'd love to see another production of the Highest Yellow go up (any word on if there ever would be a NYC production?)

From that article, it looks like for Hotel C'est L'Amour someone is creating a revue-like show (similar to Putting It Together, it seems?) using material LaChiusa has already written. Which is still exciting, because hopefully we'll get to hear some of the stuff he's written that hasn't yet been used in a production! But I don't know if it's "his new piece."
