She's reportedly weighing the offer. To be directed by Tom Gustafson, who has some writing and directing credits but is evidently best known as a casting director.

If this remains true to the stage show, I don't see how anyone could be labeled as the "star" since it is 10 scenes and each person has two scenes a piece. Still, VERY excited for this!!!

Agreed. I haven't seen the show but I'm familiar with La Ronde, the source material. I was just repeating what the article said.

ETA that IMDB lists this as in development as opposed to pre-production, meaning it's not a sure thing at this point.

I suppose they could re-write it to be like David Hare's "Blue Room" (also based on La Ronde), in which one couple played all the roles (and in which Nicole Kidman had a notorious nude scene on Broadway).

Otherwise, yes, there are five men and five women, all with equal sized roles.

I don't know what the appeal would be for a movie version of this. But I confess I'm not a Lachiusa fan.

They need to start bringing more of Jason Robert Brown's work to film. Parade followed by Songs For A New World.

"Star" refers to the cast and billing. I think the term you are calling into question is "lead".
