Posted: 3/30/08 at 7:54pmI would love for the show to tour, because I didn't get to see it when it was originally playing here in Chicago

This would be an EXPENSIVE show to tour. How the heck would they bring that set from city to city? And that's a large, expensive cast to pay.
And a 3 hours and 20 minutes long PLAY?!
Any tour of this play would flop.

it's at the bottom of the website... National Tour Coming Soon. Check back for details. So it's happening...
but yeah.. it's a damn big set. I'm assuming it'll be a smaller version of it. Probably just a normal rectanular deck... rather than the three-split deck on Broadway.... and it will only be abe to tour the biggest houses in the country.

Posted: 4/8/08 at 10:10amOne of many memorable moments of the play is Violet climbing up and down those stairs. It's a major part of her character, and Deanna Dunagan's performance. Yeah, they will probably shrink the set, but I'm willing to bet that there will be a second level with stairs at least. Sure wish they would at least provide some news on the cities for the tour!

Well, the 2 part, 6.5 hours combined Nicolas Nickleby play is running in Toronto right now as part of its tour and doing quite well so there can be an audience for long plays. Granted, it's making no stops in America (only Toronto and the UK), so maybe thats a sign too.
And that set (in AOC) isn't the most elaborate one I've seen to tour, so I'm sure they can figure something out! Let's hope!

Posted: 4/8/08 at 7:35pmI assume it'd be one of those tours that go to the big regional theatres, not to the typical Broadway roadhouses. If I recall both Proof and Take Me Out have done similar tours recently.
