re: August: Osage County recoups

Good for them!

And man, that was quick, even for a straight play.
This play deserved it.

re: August: Osage County recoups

Great news, and an amazing show!

Didn't take all that long considering the size of the show, and the cost of the move to the Music Box.

Speaking of that, would the cost of the move count in what is normally called the "initial investment" or would it be considered an added part of the running costs?

re: August: Osage County recoups

I thought that it would take longer to recoup (if at all) considering that they spent a good deal of money for the move to the Music Box Theatre.

Plus they JUST opened in the new theatre, didn't they? Wow.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I assume the cost of the move was factored into the initial investment.
