If I had to choose I would pick a photo with the star over an autograph but I would love both. lol :)

Also if you write to someone and get back an autograph it is in a way their "real" autograph. As for at the stage door they are in a hurry and just scribble a letter instead of their signature.

I am not an autograph hound, but in 1977-78 I saw "Chicago" in Chicago and was fortunate enough to have my Playbill signed by Chita Rivera and Gwen Verdon. Definitely a prized posession.
