I realize that these sorts of questions tend to annoy a lot of people, but I really need some advice so I didn't know where to go.
A group of seven friends and I are planning on seeing the Avenue Q matinee on Sunday. We are going to try the lottery first, even though our chances are rather low, but we figure with eight of us, we'll at least grab one set of tickets. (Maybe.)
Afterwards, we wanted to grab discount tickets for those who didn't win the lottery (which will most likely be all eight of us). I have the discount code from BroadwayBox, but using the code does not make you eligible for the first 10 rows of the Golden. Which is fine, but right now, the best option is row M (this is splitting the group in half so we're in two different sections of the theater).
I guess the other option would be to try TKTS - the ticket prices would be comparable with BroadwayBox or TKTS.
Any thoughts as to which would be the better option? (We obviously want the best seats possible.) Would we even get through the TKTS line in time for the 2pm show? (The Avenue Q drawing is at 12:30, and after walking past the Mariott Marquis a few times, I know that line gets reallllllly long.) Does TKTS sell blocks of tickets (ie. 6-8 tix)?
Thanks in advance for all your help! Wish us luck...

There is a 4th of July discount going around...JULY08. Go to BroadwayOffers.com and enter that in. I'm not sure how much the tickets are, but I believe some are a tad cheaper than what you normally would pay using other discount codes.
EDIT: I just checked and that discount code isn't valid until July 1st. Sorry.

Oh well. Thanks anyways! :)
I guess my main questions are:
1. When the prices are the same, is it smarter to go for TKTS or online discount codes?
2. Does TKTS have blocks of tickets (between 6-
?
3. How long does it usually take to get through the superlong TKTS lines?

Actually when it gets closer to showtime, like after the lotteries, the lines really aren't THAT long at TKTS. Half the time once the lotteries are over there isn't the big line but rather people just go to the area where the windows are.
As far as blocks, I don't know.
As far as which is better... If you want to know and somewhat choose where you'e sitting, in advance is the better option. If you don't really care about where the seats are, tkts should be fine.
LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
