After many times of entering the lotto again, I *kinda won*. Got VERY lucky today! Got to the lotto around 12:10 & was with my mom & her boyfriend. We needed 3 tickets & weren't expecting to get all 3 but we did! The 1st name called was my moms & the 2nd name called was her boyfriends! So we got 3 seats together.
There were a LOT of changes to the show. I read on a thread they changed a lot but today was my 1st time witnessing them. Afew a can remember:
-Slowed down "Purpose" after Princeton sings "It's a sign"
-Brian had a new line before "I'm Not Wearing Underwear"
-Added a "Sucks to be me" reprise at the opening of Act II
-During Schaedenfreude (sp? haha), they took out the middle section that had like "Oscars never reaching the ending of their oscar speech"
-Got rid of parts during The Money Song- when Gary Coleman gives 1$ & when Xmas Eve & Brian give $. Now they just give $ & Gary makes a joke
-There was a bunch of lyrics changes
-In Life Outside Your Apartment, they had different background music & changed a line from "You could win the lotto" to "You could step in dog ****"
Now for actor review:
Understudy for Princeton/Rod: Jonathan Root. He was great. His singing sounded a lot like Jonathan Tartaglias which was very good. He put his own little like attitude on Princeton alittle but he was good. I enjoyed his performance. & he sweats a LOT. It was running down his face the entire show & a person inback of me was like "Ew he's so sweaty"
Kate Monstery/Lucy: Kelli Sawyer. I believe she just started afew days/weeks ago & I was very VERY pleased by her! Her singing was amazing. At times though I felt she was playing the part herself & not the so much the puppets. She completely belted Fine Fine Line which was good.
Nick, Trekkie Monster: Robert McClure. He said he just joined this week & that I was VERY surprised at. His voice really is the best in the cast. It was just so like "pure". He seemed just like Rick Lyon but he was better. He was deffinitly the highlight of the show.
Not gonna review everybody else because I saw them before.

Now onto the bad part of the day that I'm still pissed off about. Rent has a Sunday night show so we tried the lotto. There was a group of I'd say 10 girls & the "lotto-guy" made it clear they're constantly there & he remembers them. So, I mean they were a nice group & girls & I have nothing against them, but they all won! & it really pissed me off. They were nice though, but it was just annoying. I really think it's fixed & it's not the 1st time I felt this way after that lotto. The guy picking the names was inside & just put them on the table. He got to see every name before putting it on the table. If the girl have been there so many times, he could have easily remember their names & kept looking for them until they got picked. We had 3 chances of winning & lost & it was just annoying how a group of 10 girls can win & how we couldn't. Just thought I'd ramble...
Edit: & on a better note: We ate lunch at Juniors & I'm 99% sure Justin Long was sitting next to me!

It sounds like they've officially put in the Vegas script for the Broadway show.
I have some qualms about that. I just always assumed a show was frozen once it officially opened on Broadway, but it turns out that it's not the standard anymore. Hairspray has changed their script as well since it opened.
Not that either book changes are bad nessasarily, but if it wasn't broken before, especially after both had already won the Tony for Best Book, why fix it now?

Posted: 11/5/06 at 11:07pmWhen I talked to Howie Michael Smith after the 9-3-06 performance he said that all of the changes had been made earlier that week. The only one that had been made prior to that (sometime before June) was the new beginning of Act 2.

I feel like I have to see the show again to evaluate these changes. Kelli Sawyer isn't "new" per se since she appeared in Vegas, I think opposite Jonathan Root.
Also, what changes did they make to Hairspray?
