Avenue Q audience

Just a funny experience last night----amazing show (my 1st time seeing it-- with my 26-yr old daughter). We both loved it! There was a group of 4 very elderly women a few rows behind us---In the second act, when the "new guy" leaves and gestures---the audience went wild --- I slightly turned to see the women and they were very stonefaced----Well, they either didn't get it or thought they were seeing a muppet show and were --- surprised!
Hopefully they enjoyed it-----I absolutely loved it and so did the audience. I also liked the theater (John Golden)--very intimate! I want to go again!

re: Avenue Q audience

how was the environment yesterday at Avenue Q? Was the show all fired up due to the election?

I know during the show when I went, people cheered during the "For Now" song, when they mention Bush...

re: Avenue Q audience

When they sang "Bush" during the "For Now" song, the audience cheered so loudly that you couldn't hear the cast singing. The cast just laughed --- After the show, during the "Equity Fights Aids" appeal, Rick Lyon said "I'll make this quick, I know you're all anxious to get home to watch the election results". Again-----the audience cheered and clapped! It was a very intense evening----just great!

re: Avenue Q audience

i bet the show tonight is going to reflect the final election results...makes me want to go see the show =) don't you love Rick Lyon? I think he's the unsung hero of Avenue Q, upstaged by all the young cute guys. Rick Lyon's super talented...I love his Trekkie monster! hilarious~

Keep rubbing it in. I could not get a ticket.
It Sucks To Be Me!
They are all the most talented, most down to earth and sweetest performers I have ever had the pleasure of interviewing.
(Jeff Marx, Jeff Whitty and Robert Lopez don't suck either)

re: Avenue Q audience

My daughter sat on the aisle (center) and so, was hugged by Princeton during the The Money Song. I asked her "was he good?" She said "Oh, yeah!"

Corine, what do you mean you couldn't get a ticket? Plenty of them available same day...

May pop in there tonight.
JOHN LITHGOW I just realized, your last name is Butz! Both "Norbert" AND "Butz" are in your name! You must have gotten picked on a lot as a child!

re: Avenue Q audience

Yeah, will someone please post any reference(s) to the current election standings in tonight's/this week's show(s)? I'll bet they're real funny and I really need a laugh, I'm seriously so depressed...and 100% disappointed in the way my state (good ole' Ohio) is leaning...grrr.

If I show you the darkness I hold inside, will you bring me to light?

re: Avenue Q audience

I only saw Harada during the Tony awards performance and a few other appearances, but I think I prefer her---she seems more "bubbly" and cute. (IMO)
