me three, especially Kate and Rod.
Avenue Q is about
2 1/2 of the best hours you will spend in the theater in a while!
True, so true!
For the original poster: if you're not offended by the Simpsons, you won't be offended by Avenue Q. They have the same balance of humour and heart.
Overated?
Are you out of your mind?
It is the most under rated show ever!
I LOVE AVENUE Q.
Kate, Rod and Nicky are my favorites.

I love the cast. Ann Harada cracks me up. I brought my Avenue Q cd over to my mothers today and she was laughing.
I have to take her to see it soon.
When Ann Harada says "Get a job," "slow down Brian it is not a race." I laugh every time.
The cd is a blessing.
I listen to it at least once a day.

Me too! The cast recording is a gem. I love how Trekkie Monster says, "Oh, hello Kate Monsterrrrr!" and "Okey dokey".
Not to mention his growling in You Can Be As Loud as the Hell You Want.
I love Trekkie. When he interupts Kate I snicker.
I keep thinking of him opening windows and saying
"The Internet Is For Porn"
I love all of the cast except Lucy the slut.
BOO. HISS!
And i hate when she becomes nice at the end.
The HUSSY right Dame!

LOL - but I do love Stephanie belting the end of "Special" - she sounds fierce!
Actually, when I saw the show, I remember that that's the moment when I thought, wow, that woman is a amazing performer, doing two completely different roles with such verve! Especially that rippling hand movement Lucy does at the end of the song, as she feels herself down. Loved it!
i know, those are great lines. it's scary to think a voice like that can come out of a person and even weirder when you watch rick do the voice. it looks like it's his normal talking voice. it's amazing!
I agree that Wonderful Town is a must see, I've seen that 4 times (same amount that I've seen Wicked and not as near as many as I've seen Q.)
We should really have an Avenue Q appreciation thread.
Well,
This is an Avenue Q appreciation thread.
PS Stephanie is the best. I really wanted her to get the Tony.
She is my favorite Diva.

Stephanie is amazing in this role, but the role doesn't hold a candle to the difficulties vocally or acting of Glinda or Elphaba. It could've gone either way, but I think Idina was definitely the right choice.
You're right that Glinda and Elphaba are more demanding roles (although Stephanie is absolutely amazing, especially in how she can play two very different roles at once, and sometimes simultaneously), but I think the winner should have been Tonya Pinkins, who delivers a powerhouse, legendary turn in Caroline or Change. Now that's a difficult role!
dont remember wat it was about. i was probably sleeping...or barfing. one or the other......
