I have been listening to this song for a while, and still don't really have an idea of what this song is about. Could someone enlighten me on what this song is about and what it means? I thought that it was somewhat of a religous song, but then I have heard of it being referenced as a romantic song. Any help, or enlightenment would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Posted: 2/21/06 at 1:57pmUmmmm I don't see how it is a romantic song. For me it is about a man questioning God. I think at the beginning of this song something happens to someone he loves. Maybe a child or lover is stricken with a disease, beaten, or something. HE's seeing all these bad things happening in the world around him. He's seeing HORRIBLE things happening to the people he loves. HE's wondering where God is in all of this. Having done all the he can do he is just standing waiting for God to do something. He's expecting God to do something. That's what I think the song's about.

That's what I thought the song was about too....but I thought I had missed something. Your thoughts are my thoughts exactly, and that is how I've always performed the song in coachings... Just wanted to make sure that I was on the same page as others...
