I don't know if this was posted already, but I was checking imdb and according to them, Aaron Lohr, who played Matt in Bare, will be playing Steve in the Rent movie

Yeah there was a thread about it a while ago but it's still exciting nonetheless.

Yay for Aaron! I think that's some good casting, really shows the diversity of people stricken with AIDS (him being muscular and all - compare to Collins and Angel)
Yes, I agree.
As I said in that thread, he's going to make a really great Steve.
oh, I'm sorry, I must have missed it the first go round
but it's still good news and I love that they're using some theatre actors and I do wish him the best

Okay, big Rent head here, but whose Steve? Is he one of the kids at the meeting w/ Gordon?
Steve, Gordon, Ali, Pam, Sue, Angel, Tom Collins and Paul are Life Support
Steve also starts Will I?

Yeah. Man I loved the original Steve's voice at the start of Will I? On the CR. So fitting and emotional.

How can a 'big Renthead' not know who Steve is?
broadwaystar2be, Aaron has done far more work on tv and film than onstage. I loved him in Radiant Baby but chances are the reason he was cast was his experience other than stage work.
yes he was in NEWSIES. another amazing movie They should put that on broadway
Personally, I feel Aaron's best work so far was in the VH1 Monkees movie, Daydream Believers...anyone remember that?
And whatever happened to Gilles Chiasson (the original Steve)...? Where is he now?

Daydream Believers?! HA!! I thought *I* was the only one who saw that. :)
Though I still wonder why Aaron was cast in the role of Micky Dolenz. Micky was a skinny little no-ass kid, and Aaron is rather broad-shouldered and athletic. Okay, he's a beefcake. So what gives with the casting choice?
But I thought all four of the leads were good, actually. They're good guys in real life as well.
Who did he play in Newsies?
I absolutely adore that movie, they definately should put it on Broadway!
Aaron played Mush according to imdb
