Contrasting mono. - Charlie's monologue . . . EAT YOUR HEART OUT
Balad - Prayer . . . THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL

That's not up-tempo...

Yes it is.

EDIT: Though, admittedly, it does have the slow "I wrote a poem..." section in the middle. re: BARITONE UP-TEMPO????

And it's from "Kiss Me Kate." I wouldn't really call it uptempo...

"Wouldn't You Like to Be on Broadway?" from Street Scene is one I use. "Tonight at Eight" and "She Loves Me" from She Loves Me are pretty upbeat too.

Regarding "Kiss Me, Kate", I think "Where is the Life That Late I Led?" would work better than "Were Thine..."

HAH! You are absolutely right. It's on one of my compilation CD's right underneath "Fate" and I looked at the wrong show. re: BARITONE UP-TEMPO????

It's still an up-tempo, though. It's in cut-time for God's sake. What do you want the man to sing, a patter song?

Puhleeze don't sing Tonight at Eight - its one of the most oversung audition songs for men.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!
