Pardon my "Broadway newbie" ignorance... but I have a question related to BC/EFA. Do the shows always sell props, signed posters, and the like after the shows, or is that only during the spring months leading up to the Easter Bonnet event?
I must admit I've only gone to Broadway shows in the spring so I've always seen the BC/EFA "speech" and such. But now I'm going next week and am wondering if I can expect to perhaps pick up a neat prop or something. I was a complete dork this past spring and passed on the opportunity, and now I'm kicking myself and hoping to rectify the situation.
Thank you so much, and again I apologize for my ignorance!

They usually make that speech in spring before the Easter Bonnet event and in early fall for another event that is for BC/EFA.

Thanks so much everyone! Guess this time around I'll have to stick to buying the "normal" souvenirs. Just gives me an excuse to go back in the spring.

In November, the week of thanksgiving its usually broadway cares week and then you can buy props and autographed posters!

I think the Gypsy competitions lasted for about 6 weeks last year ( not just Thanksgiving week) - where you could bid for interesting and exclusive items ( including photo ops with the cast) during the auctions after the shows. And you could also buy things like signed posters, signed Playbills, BC/EFA CDs, etc., at the lobby.

Jessica,
The "Gypsy" competition is held in the fall and the "Easter Bonnet" is in the spring. I think they both last about six weeks, Gypsy ended the first week of December, and I think the Easter Bonnet ended the third week of April?
I know what you mean about passing something up and then realizing later what you missed. I saw an item like that, and decided I would kick myself later, so I bought it. Haven't been sorry, though it probably didn't help my budget.
I think there might be a few items available at the Flea Market in September. (I think it's the third Sunday in September, or thereabouts.)

Thanks so much everyone! I sure wish I lived closer to NY and could make it up to all these fantastic events (especially the flea market - sounds wonderful!). I will keep the Gypsy of the Year competition in mind and maybe I can hope for a trip in November or December.
