BCEFA Benefit Concert: Help/Plea

Dear Community,
The holiday season will be rapidly approaching and before you know it, we will all be very busy. It is a time to give back to your loved ones, and especially the community. This semester, my fellow students and I have been put in countless hours of work, volunteering our talents to give back to the Staten Island community. We have been hard at work on “Broadway Rocks: Rock and Pop Songs from Broadway”. All proceeds will go to the largest AIDS not-for-profit organization: Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids (www.bcefa.org), which provides care to children, men and women. All proceeds will go to this wonderful organization! I am hoping to receive some Broadway items (signed posters, playbills, etc) that will go on sale at each show. If there is anything that could be donated, please let me know! Any help would be great!
The reason I am writing, although we do have a venue at Wagner College, Staten Island, for Thursday December 2-Saturday December 4, 2004 at 8pm.. We really want to reach more of the Staten Island community and beyond -to raise as much money as possible! Because we do not have the funds to pay for a space, I was wondering if there were any high schools, cabaret spaces, organizations, etc.; that may kindly lend us a space for a day or two in December. It’s an amazing cause and the audience will get a polished, professional show, and be highly entertained. It will also promote the audience to Broadway –and for some it may be their first introduction to Broadway music.
The theme of the show is rock and pop songs from Broadway. The show will have approximately twenty songs in two acts. The show is low tech, and features only twelve vocalists and three band members (piano, electric/acoustic guitar, and drums). The songs range from amazing standards like Hair, Pippin, Grease to more contemporary shows such as Rent, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Again, any help would be great, being only that it is a small ground of student trying to make a big difference. I have a leap of faith. Again, thank you so much for you time and input!

Sincerely
