so i finally saw BKLYN! i loved it. it was kind of wierd walking into the theater doors and the seats were right there...but i loved how it was small and intimate and i love when the stage is literally right there! Some seats were emtpy but people just moved over, but the majority was filled. It was so unexpected when they started, they just kind of ran out.
so here's my review: i like the storyline, some say its cheesy but i think if the obvious winner of the concert won then it would be cheesy! but anyways...
Eden sounded so adorable as lil bklyn, i was wondering if there would be a little girl playing her because i didn't know the storyline. I love how they bascially changed all there props and were running around changing things.I love all the props, there's so much that they have to put back together and erase for each show i wonder how they do that. karen was extra hyper or just is always like that.
the songs were great! the crowd went crazy for eden in once upon a time, she has such a powerful voice. ramona was soo good to, all of them were it was great.
costumes- i loved them...i loved eden's regular outfit and karen's. the caution tape dress was awesome! my mom was cracking up at that. they all had so much energy it was great. um at the end of course standing ovation..they deserved it. Where is the band during the show? they came out at the end but i had no idea where they were playing.
so after it was just too cold and rainy to stay and get autographs..i wanted to so bad...ive never done that! i want to see bklyn again.
so say i want to send a letter to them..i would have to send my playbill for autographs or will they send something back? i didn't do a board search so dont all get mad...i just didnt have time to right now.
it reminds me of when i do summer shows and we do the whole- tell a story and we are running around changing props and such...but then again we aren't on broadway doing that.
so overall--BKLYN was great!

Thank you so much for such a great review. Sounds like you had a really great time. I have the cast recording of "Brooklyn" and the only thing I really like about it are the vocals by the cast. The story seems a little queer (text book def. not offending homosexuals, I'm gay). But, I do want to see it, even more so now that you gave it such a rave. Thanks again!

Posted: 12/24/04 at 2:36pmUrgh, I wish I lived in NYC and could say "I really liked that show, I think I'll see it again next week!" Has anyone gotten their Brooklyn CD from a store, or are they only available if you order them? Maybe they just don't sell them in the stores in Hicksville, Maryland.

Posted: 12/24/04 at 3:29pmthanks would i right. the cast member name on top? if i dont send a playbill will they send something back like all of them... should i send like a huge envelope to get stuff back? lol sorry for the thousand questions

Posted: 12/24/04 at 3:34pmYes, you should write the name at the top (for example: Ramona Keller, The Plymouth Theatre). You can ask them for a signed playbill, or put your playbill in it and ask them to sign it.

Posted: 12/26/04 at 11:28amthe envelope, needs to fit whatever you are sending her to sign; ie: a playbill should fit in a 6x9 enevelope. So use one to mail to her and fold one in half, with your address and postage, and put it inside your enevelope.
