"Broadway Bares, the annual fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, may be heading to Vegas.
Variety reports that Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, who conceived the idea for the fundraising strip show nearly two decades ago, and producer Scott Zieger have plans to mount a commercial production in Sin City. The sit-down production, which would play one of the Vegas casinos, would be retitled Peep Show."

That's kind of ridiculous... the whole point of Broadway Bares is giving to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Updated On: 7/13/07 at 09:59 PM
Yes. I'm not sure how I feel about this happening, unless a portion of the earnings continues to benefit the fight against AIDS.

What would make it different than any other strip show in Vegas?

So true. How different would this show be from the standard Las Vegas Strip offerings that you can find any of the casinos.
Also, part of the appeal, is that this show is for BC/EFA, and a once a year event.
Will part of the proceeds from the Las Vegas show go to support BC/EFA, or a similar orgainization in Las Vegas? I would like to think/hope so..
There's nothing wrong with Jerry Mitchell and Scott Zieger putting together a show for Vegas that I guess follows a similar idea of Broadway Bares. It's not really a new idea since so many Vegas shows are based on stripper themed production numbers. They are entitled to do something that may make them some money. BUT, don't associate this production with Broadway Bares. That is where I have a problem with it, unless they do take some of the proceeds and give it to BC/EFA. Go ahead and put on a show in Vegas, just don't say "Broadway Bares, the annual fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, may be heading to Vegas. "

I agree. I have no problem with Jerry Mitchell and Scott Zieger putting together a show for Vegas. Everyone is entittled to make a living.
But... saying it's Broadway Bares goes to Las Vegas.. somehow cheapens the original idea of the show.
