BWW Q&A with Josefina Scaglione

She's delightful but this:
"BWW: It is such a rich season of shows, to have Next To Normal and West Side Story running, what a gift!"
Is really awkward. There's no mention of Next to Normal anywhere else in the interview to justify its inclusion at the expense of other shows. The BWW interviewer comes across as a crazed Next to Normal fan who thinks the entire season revolves around that show, instead of a neutral professional.

On a different note, I knew NOTHING of this youtube video "thing".
Can someone elaborate more on that situation?

That's really funny.
MTVMANN, Laurents discovered Scaglione through a video posted on YouTube.

Posted: 6/3/09 at 4:20pmTo be fair, they do mention other plays as well. I think they were trying to give an example of a NEW, ORIGINAL musical, and Shrek, 9 to 5, and Rock of Ages don't really fit the bill.

That explanation makes no sense.
"It is such a rich season of shows, to have Next To Normal and West Side Story running"
Nothing in that statement warrants a NEW ORIGINAL musical example over an adapted musical, and even so, West Side Story is neither.

Posted: 6/4/09 at 8:49pmIt is rather weird, but she's delightful in the show and although she has no chance at winning, she would have my vote!

Posted: 6/4/09 at 11:16pmMaybe the interviewer was trying to point out that there is a highly challenging, brand new original musical and a bonafide American classic running now on Broadway- both shows at either end of the spectrum.
