And from what I've seen, it looks much less than amazing thanks to Longbottom's rather mundane and ordinary choreography, which is not a patch on the butt cheeks of Mr. Bennett and Michael Peters' original. You can see that here, at the Dreamgirls concert - it's not lit well, but you can certainly see the genius of it.

Does Theoni Aldridge get a nod in the Playbill? William Ivey Long's costumes certainly pay homage to the original designs.

The costumes are not great. They pale in comparison to Theoni's brilliant work. In fact, some of them are down right awful- like the Vogue sequence and cheesy One Night Only.

I haven't seen the production, but based on this video I'm in the underwhelmed camp, in terms of everything. The costumes, the staging/choreography, and the performances. There doesn't seem to be much real energy here, and very little star quality.

bk, you're right about the original. That concert has a lot of the vitality this version seems to be lacking.
