Some quick thoughts:
George Dvorsky replaced on 3 day's notice & learned his music spot on! Tonight @ 8 (She Loves Me) was exactly in tone with the character in She Loves Me. His voice was perfect for this fach and he exuded great characterizations all evening in beautiful voice.
Julia Murney & George were very pleasing in All For You (Tovarich).
George sang Gonna' Be Another Hot Day (110) off-mike & put it over for me.
Euan Morton was adorable w/Nancy Anderson in "Uh Oh" (Tovarich). & I enjoyed his "Everything Beautiful Happens At Night" (110).
I also enjoyed Nancy's "Will He Like Me" (She Loves Me).
Noah Racey's partnering with Sara Brians (fr 42nd St.) was great fun & reminiscent of Astaire & Rogers yet w/originality. Was the song called something like "When I'm in Love"?
Steve Bogardus sold me on "Melisande" (110), a difficult piece to put over out of context. Bogardus & Calloway had playful interaction in "I'll Do Anything" (Oliver).
Liz did a bang-up job on Vanilla Ice Cream (She Loves Me) & Old Maid (110).
Kudisch (tonight's dir) made a surprise appearance & sang "The Rain Song" with tremendous presence & the song lies great in his voice.
Regarding Bway Unplugged, here's the announced performers:

All of the above reminds me what a great show "110 in the Shade" is! Marin Mazzie is doing it at the Pasadena Playhouse, coming up soon - for you Angelinos.

Stephanie, Marc, and Alix are enough to get me in a seat. Oh, and Emily, too... I guess.

It was a great show last nite as expected. Thought Dvorsky was outstanding, especially coming in at the last minute to "save the day" - though it didn't seem to really need saving with such a stellar cast and fantastic performances. Looking forward to "unplugged" show in Sept.

LOVED last nite's show! Kudisch, Dvorsky, Racey, Murney - the entire cast did a great job! Enjoyed the direction as well as Ross Patterson and his band. Scott Siegel was wonderful as always with his commentary which is alway so enlightening and fun. Can't wait for the next one!
It really was a fantastic evening! And, on top of everything, was a great surprise appearance by Toxic Audio! This was my first year subscribing and the 4 concerts have been extraordinary! I can't wait to sign up again for next year!!!!

This was my first Broadway by the Year. I can't believe it's been around for several years and I missed them! I was going to Broadway Under the Stars but decided at the last minute I'd rather sit in a chair than on my butt. I was up in the balcony, three rows from the back, but it was a total thrill to hear those off-mike numbers way back there. I thought I was in another era. What a great job the host does to establish the year and keep you locked in to the time period. And that was some kind of a cast. I loved the first act, but the second act was unbelieveable!!!! It started with Kudisch singing "The Rain Song" off mike like a man possessed. Brilliant! And the rest of the act flew by with one amazing performance after another. Highlights for me were Toxic Audio, Noah Racey & Sara Brians (That was the most exciting dance number I've seen in years!!!!), Liz Callaway with Old Maid, and Steve Bogardus singing Melisande -- pure musical theater. And Bogardus was off mike!!!! When the host said that the Broadway unplugged show was being announced to the Broadway by the Year audience first, I was really, really glad I went to Town Hall instead of Bryant Park. I'd have never known!!! I already bought my ticket. I should have bought more to scalp!!!!
