I went Sunday night. Thought it was fantastic. John Lloyd Young was tremendous. Brian Stokes Mitchell was his usual greatness. Just a great performance by all.

'p.s. Lea Michele, whose On My Own was the highlight for me, was the only performer who seemed in control of her acting together with her singing. '
I, too, enjoyed Lea Michele. However, I wouldn't say she was the 'only performer in control of her acting with her singing' - the giggle gave that away - she did well, but, that was a bit disruptive.
'That sign Sunday night said 14,880' does this count represent total ticket sales or those that showed up? just curious as I've never seen this at a theater
John,
Why so bitter?
If you don't like my posts, don't read them.
And I believe you are at the top of that 'sick list'.
Get over yourself.

If there's anyone who's bitter, that would be you Byron. Go back and reread all of your postings on this board. You've always got some smart ass, queeny comment to make. You think you're such a know it all...but, you don't know anything.
You are a bitter old queen who's getting
bigger and wider by the day.

I am so over JLY but it is nice to see that his career hasn't totally fallen of the face of the earth after Jersey Boys.
Melora Hardin is amazing.
I would see Idina's show over Lea's ANY DAY!
I would love to see Lea Michelle 's Eponine.. I'm sure she is amazing.....
Is anyone going to upright Caberet to see her?

I must say I think Melora Hardin is an extremely talented actress, the versatility between Les Mis and her comic timing in The Office is pretty remarkable. Anyone who hasn't seen the "Dinner Party" episode should, if only for her performance--it's hysterical.
MG..The answer to your question is; that is the number of people in attendance that evening. As far as ticket sales.. at 3 pm that afternoon ticketmaster had tickets in all sections available for that night except for the boxes I know because I was being a little anal and killing time. Again.. so glad you enjoyed it. I had a fun time too. i just didn't think it was all that.

dotmarie... i'm going to definitely agree with you on that... i love melora hardin and to even think that could do les miserables after watching her as the self-destructive Jan on The Office was amazing to see... and the Dinner Party has to be one of the funniest episodes of the Office ever...

Dame: Thanks for the clarification. Glad you enjoyed it, too.
For me, it WAS all that because I had been waiting for 5 1/2 years to be able to see J. Mark McVey return to this role - so, I could not possibly be disappointed - unless they removed BHH, that is!
Melora Hardin was great. I have never seen the Office - (not a TV buff) - perhaps I should now try to catch it.
The Office is my absolute favorite tv show, so when I found out Melora was going to be in this show, I had an embarrassing fangirl moment and shouted "oh my gosh, its JAN!" I was very impressed by her performance in Les Miz, and I think she's an extremely talented actress with great versatility.
Now on another note, who else here had a HORRIBLE time getting out of the parking lot once the show was over? I realized why so many people took buses instead. It was a nightmare! How long were you guys stuck in the parking lot? I was pretty close to the front of the stacked parking, and it still took about 45 minutes to get out, so i can't even imagine how long people parked in the back were there!

A 45-minute wait to get out of stacked parking is pretty good. It usually takes an hour at least. There can also be long lines and standing-room-only for the buses. There are non-stacked parking outside the Bowl but they're a bit more expensive and farther away. I just try to find FREE side street parking and just walk to the Bowl. It takes about a mile (or more) but think of the exercise you can get in. Beats waiting and inhaling all that fumes.

i refuse to park at the bowl! that place is too damn insane! taking the subway and the shuttles are much easier!
MG;
J. Mark McVey was good. Not my favorite. Not my least favorite. Just somewhere in between. I didn't know who he was before the Bowl and the only reason I remember him now is because you keep bringing him up. Are you perhaps his lover or something? It is just a little weird.

Dame: I find that question offensive. I hardly write on here - until this show - and I bring him up because I find him an extremely talented person - that's all. I will refrain from further comment since it appears praising someone can ellicit this type of response.

MG: I, too, think McVey is totally awesome! He nailed the character completely! There are many of us who were thrilled he did this show - you are not alone. Those around me were commenting on seeing him years ago and how he was as good if not better in the role now.
DAME: Does being a 'FAN' of someone deserve that comment? Is she/he Weird? nah - committed fan? - yes. It would be nice if all fans were that committed.

one more comment - I think Richard J A did and outstanding job of staging this show. and Stites outstanding with the orchestrations.
I wasn't trying to be offensive. That is just the way I felt about him. So I just found it weird that someone is going out of their way to go on and on ( and on and on and on). He seems like a handsome man..( wig and all).. what would be wrong if you were his lover?

ByTheSea920 so did I!
Haha, Evie, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who got excited about that! Before the show I actually was hoping that maybe some Office co-stars would come out to see her, but I didn't see any of them there.

was going to write earlier - but, then changed my mind. But, I can't hold back... Thought this show was AMAZING -- It was a Concert - yet not. And I was so delighted to be there. Loved Stokes - he brought Javert alive for the first time for me. JLY chose 'less is more' route and it worked perfectly. Michelle Maika was a perfect older Cosette - even brought a little humor to the role - not an easy thing to do. Melora Hardin - who knew? great job. Michael McCormick was properly villianous. Tom Lowe was a 'heart throb' of an Enjolras. And finally - yes, J. Mark McVey moving from angry prisoner taking advantage to repentent - to making amends - was truly awesome - perfect blend of singing/acting. Everyone contributed to this wonderful production - not a klinker in the bunch!
