Your first trip to NYC sounds simply amazing. And thanks for the reviews on all the shows...you obviously know what you're talking about and put such a positive spin on things...it makes me want to go see them all right now! (Even Tarzan...I think I'd like to see what they're trying to do with it and the so-bad-it's-good factor people have been talking about.)
With your love of the theater, hopefully you can make a trip back to NYC sometime soon!

I'm going to revise my first few opinions of "Tarzan." Basically I think the show was great with my eyes closed.
I'm thinking back to how awesome the brass and percussion rocked and how much I enjoyed the toe-tapping jungle beats. Strickland, Dandridge, Gregory, and Gamby had great voices.
Visually it was sloppy. "Tarzan" might be fun blind-folded, because you don't have to be bothered or stressed by the clumsy stunts and scene changes. You can just enjoy the infectious rhythms. It sure was a treat for the ears.
