Hey everybody!
That's me in the video. I just want to say thank you for all of your comments. Both positive and negative. I'm always glad to get criticism and take everything as an opportunity to improve. This was a performance for a Cabaret at the place I take voice lessons put on by the graduating seniors. The theme of the night was a sort of "Who I Was, Who I Am and Who I'm Going to Be" type of thing. So all of the songs were to be sung from our own point of view, not necessarily in the context of the show.
Like I said, I'm glad that those of you who liked this did, and for those who had something to say, thank you! Haha.

Orlandog I do not understand that "Your Daddy's Son" AT ALL- the comments are pretty funny as people try to puzzle it out....

Ktabianchi, you could give some Broadway stars lessons on how to respond to BWW threads about yourself.
Joekv99,,,if you had a chance to watch the ENTIRE link that I posted and see what the actress does in the middle of the song with the blanket, I hope that would clear up the point I was trying to make.
If you did, and still don't understand my point, I do apologize. My point basically is that actors interpret roles/songs/scenes differently which makes it such unique art...sorry if I wasn't clear.
HOWEVER, her actions in that song/link were VERY clear, and as much potential as the guy singing Back to Before has, I didn't get that he was 100% clear about how to interpret the lyric "women in white, and sturdy young man,,,".
Not to toot my own horn, but I was trained in conservatory to make sure each moment lands and when he sang that lyric, I didn't see that he was interpreting it the way you described/and I wasn't sure what he was going for. BUT, like in the link of 'Your Daddy's Son", it's an obvious choice that he made and he sang the song/had a lot of awesome acting moments that really drew me into the song, with the exception of 'women in white...blah blah blah'...does that clear it up?
