GoldDerby.com features backstage footage of this trio of EGOT winners (below). Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice pay tribute to the late Craig Zadan, who was one of their co-producers. And they recalled the time when Zadan was the only person to ever direct them onstage. John Legend, for his part, saluted Lloyd Webber and Rice for ''Jesus Christ Superstar,'' as well as NBC in believing in live musicals and diversity (by starring a black Jesus).
And the Emmy voters really believed in this ''Jesus,'' giving it 5 prizes at the Creative Emmys last night: Variety Special, Lighting, Production Design, Sound Mixing and Technical Direction. And it might still pick up an Emmy or two next Monday at the Primetime Emmys when Legend, Sara Bareilles and Brandon Victor Dixon are up for the acting awards, as well as the show's directors.
