As much as I love Rent, I always kind of grimace when Mimi says "I couldn't crack the love code, dear, till you made the lock on my heart explode." Anyone have any others?

I hate at the end of RENT when Maureen is like "Mark, Roger anyone heeeelllppp... its Mimi!" and Roger is like "NOOOOOOOO" i can't stand it for some reason, it sounds so insincere. lol

Yeah, I agree with all of those. Also, pretty much the whole NYTW Rent- many of those songs made me wince.

Now that you've chosen to become a pal, a sister and adviser, there's nobody wiser, Not when it comes to Popular
PS- don't tell anyone I know Wicked
You may dine on anything you wish, but I'd wait for dinner, we are serving fish - The Woman in White.
something bad, why couldnt they just say something bad is happening in oz and thats it?

I think the exact same thing
"I jumped over the moon, a leap of moooooooooooooo" Finale B -Rent

Wicked-Dancing Through Life
Nessa, Uh Nessa
I've got something to confess. A
reason why ...
Another one from rent: benny sings "it's what we used to dream about, think twice before you poo-poo it." poo-poo it?? seriously?
Not bad as much as confusing - 525,6oo minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. What about the other 600?
well, maybe those 600 minutes weren't as dear as the rest of them.
To me most of wicked is this way. Well at least compared to the rest of Stephen's stuff. I agree with most of the stuff said here. Especially the one at the end of rent.
I enjoy the NOO in rent too.
I hate something bad.
Not a fan of mimi's coming back to life speech in finale B of rent.
I also agree with poo-poo it. Hate that.

i agree..there are some BAAAD lyrics in Wicked...as a matter of fact..the show does have some problems...but one can forgive because it is an overall enjoyable night at the theater.
i would sing those bad lyrics if they'd let me!
"I hate at the end of RENT when Maureen is like "Mark, Roger anyone heeeelllppp... its Mimi!" and Roger is like "NOOOOOOOO" i can't stand it for some reason, it sounds so insincere."
When I saw it onstage in Frankfurt, Roger yells "NOOOO!" and runs offstage the OPPOSITE way from where Mimi, Maureen and Joanne are. Turns out he went to get a blanket and pillow, but really, if that was YOUR girlfriend...
You'll be with me like a handprint on my heart.
Please.

Because these thread always turn into Wicked and Rent lyrical issues with the occasionaly Aida outburst, I will pose one of my FAVORITE lyrics:
You are so horribly satanic
The way you lead me around
I feel just like the Titanic
I'm always going down, down, down
(DREAMGIRLS)

Are you saying that's a bad lyric in a good show?
