Bad lyrics in good shows

Posted: 1/6/06 at 6:07pmAs much as I love Rent, I always kind of grimace when Mimi says "I couldn't crack the love code, dear, till you made the lock on my heart explode." Anyone have any others?

Posted: 1/7/06 at 9:07pmNot bad as much as confusing - 525,6oo minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. What about the other 600?
#16re: Bad lyrics in good shows
Posted: 1/7/06 at 9:09pmwell, maybe those 600 minutes weren't as dear as the rest of them.

Posted: 1/7/06 at 9:18pmTo me most of wicked is this way. Well at least compared to the rest of Stephen's stuff. I agree with most of the stuff said here. Especially the one at the end of rent.

I enjoy the NOO in rent too.
I hate something bad.
Not a fan of mimi's coming back to life speech in finale B of rent.
I also agree with poo-poo it. Hate that.

i agree..there are some BAAAD lyrics in Wicked...as a matter of fact..the show does have some problems...but one can forgive because it is an overall enjoyable night at the theater.
i would sing those bad lyrics if they'd let me!

"I hate at the end of RENT when Maureen is like "Mark, Roger anyone heeeelllppp... its Mimi!" and Roger is like "NOOOOOOOO" i can't stand it for some reason, it sounds so insincere."
When I saw it onstage in Frankfurt, Roger yells "NOOOO!" and runs offstage the OPPOSITE way from where Mimi, Maureen and Joanne are. Turns out he went to get a blanket and pillow, but really, if that was YOUR girlfriend...
I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky

Because these thread always turn into Wicked and Rent lyrical issues with the occasionaly Aida outburst, I will pose one of my FAVORITE lyrics:
You are so horribly satanic
The way you lead me around
I feel just like the Titanic
I'm always going down, down, down
(DREAMGIRLS)
