Just curious if anyone has heard when the Hippodrome will announce their upcoming season? Hoping for Billy Elliot, Rock of Ages, Shrek, and 9 to 5. Would also be nice if D.C. would get In The Heights since I missed it in Baltimore but can't understand why the Warner theater and the National Theater cannot pull in more shows than they do.
I came across a website that had some rumors posted (see link below). They are saying that the Hippodrome will have Shrek, Jersey Boys, Les Miz, West Side Story, Rock of Ages, and more shows to be determined. I'm not sure how reliable the site is, so I guess you can take it with a grain of salt.

Based on my previous experiences with resubscribing for my season tickets, I don't think the Hippodrome will make their official announcement until mid-late April.
Renewal notices have started to arrive in the mail. I didn't have season tix this year but this is what my friend sent me:
Jersey Boys
Cirque Illuminations
Shrek
West Side Story
Then, to fill out your subscription you have to pick 2 of the following:
Les Mis
Blue Man Group
Rock of Ages
But you don't necessarily get "your" seats for the last 2.

I have been a season ticket holder in Baltimore for five years. When I opened my renewal letter today, I became ill! This season is a joke. Other than Jersey Boys and Rock of Ages, this season sucks!
Once again, we're being stuck with a "Broadway" show that is not a Broadway show (Cirque Dreams, two if you count Blue Man Group). On top of that, their selection of shows is dubious. I've seen both Shrek and West Side Store on Broadway and was not impressed with either. Now I'm stuck with them both on tour.
I'm also forced to choose between the lesser of two evils as a sixth show between the aforementioned Blue Man Group, or the millionth production of Les Miz.
What's more disappointing is all that could have been brought here that wasn't:
9 to 5
Billy Elliott
Hair
South Pacific
Xanadu
and especially
NEXT TO NORMAL
I would have even taken Wicked again over Cirque, Shrek, WSS, Les Miz or Blue Man.
I'm getting tired of renewing my lackluster subscription in hopes of a brighter next year, and I honestly can't say at this moment if I'm going to.
I just got my renewal letter today. While I was hoping to see N2N and Hair added to the schedule, I am pretty satisfied with this line-up. I'm not crazy about Blue Man Group or Cirque, but I think the rest of the shows being offered make up for it. I'm looking forward to next season and will definitely renew my subscription.
I was ok with the actual shows for this coming season (with the exception of Cirque Dreams.) When I went to renew, however, its almost a total bait/switch. The price listed on the renewal is for the 4 show base package and then you have to BUY additional tickets to make up the remaining 2 shows. I bought mine today and realized afterward that the total cost of my subscription had increased by over $50 (with the exact same seats/number of shows as last season.)
I am in the "cloud club" which is the cheapest section so I'm sure those with more expensive seats will have an even greater increase.
I would have preferred they just flat out stated they increased the prices this year rather than sneaking the added costs into what they are spinning as "look, you have choices in what you see." Too bad I can't dump the Cirque Dreams from my package
