Has anyone every heard this recording? What is it like? Dorothy Parker poems set to music, right? I've been wanting to for years? Does anyone have it?

Posted: 1/16/07 at 2:28pmI have it on record though I did burn it onto CD. I haven't listened to it for a while but they are quite lovely. They are art songs, simple arrangements, they showcase Cook's interpretive skills very well.

It's one of the LPs I've never thrown out, but I remember it as an acquired taste.

Just wanted to bump this thread as Stage Door will be issuing a limited edition release of Barbara Cook's debut solo album 'Songs Of Perfect Propriety By Dorothy Parker' on June 17th. The release forms part of Stage Door's 'Collector's Series' a line of limited edition CD products presented in the retro style of a miniature LP and limited to just 500 units.
