Barbara Cook has been unable to appear yet due to a throat infection:

Sheridan Morley in his first week as the critic for the Daily Express has made a slight mistake.. by reviewing a show he could not possibly have attended because it was cancelled. Last Friday the newspaper carried a four star RAVE review of the non existant press night for Miss Cook saying

"Cook is one of the reasons why we go to the theatre, sheer stellar greatness, live and nightly within our grasp. Miss her at your peril".

Barbara is expected to appear for the first time tonight.

A "slight mistake"? Oy. Looks like it isn't completely invalid to wonder if the critics actually went to performances or not.

Is it possible he saw the show in NY? Maybe this is his review of the B'way production and he's just telling people how great it is and not to miss it. Or, maybe he just F&%#ed up.
