As part of her new album called ENCORE : MOVIE PARTNERS SING BROADWAY, here's the musical pairing of Barbra and Hugh in the unproduced song ANY MOMENT NOW from the stage musical SMILE ( music by Marvin Hamlisch) --

A lovely romantic ballad, given the right context from the musical where it came from. So, the pairing is both musical and dramatic, beautifully sung by Barbra and Hugh!

Written for the musical Smile, Any Moment Now appealed to the actor in Streisand; she said she liked to sing songs that gave her something to act and called it the perfect vehicle for "actors who act and sing".

Barbra Streisand was looking for actors who sing and Hugh Jackman fit the bill for her album of duets.

On that basis, Hugh Jackman was "the first person" she thought of, Streisand said. No, not because he does a good Wolverine, but because she hears "a truth in his performance" that she finds "very touching".
