Barbra and Nelson Riddle redo

Here's a clip I just made. I love this behind-the-scenes stuff!

Nelson Riddle's original orchestration for "What Did I Have?" was scrapped and redone. Here is Barbra singing to the first, unused orchestration, followed by the orchestration as heard in the finished film.

The first one is too busy. What's amazing is not that Nelson Riddle made a "mistake" but how a great artist refines his work. It's fasciating to can see the master edit and improve his first draft.
