My male friend and I are going to be in a Mr. GQ competition and we want to sing. But we cannot think of a song to sing together. Any ideas?
do you want a showtune or something mainstream? I would reccommend "Lily's Eyes" or "Agony" both are very similar (lily's eyes is better).
My best friend and I are planning on doing "Agony" from Into The Woods soon. We have done "Guys & Dolls" from Guys & Dolls, and "All For The Best" from Godspell. "What You Own" from Rent is an option, too, but Rent is so over done nowadays.
We do these songs for Chorus finals!
How about "Pretty Women" from Sweeney? (If it's not too low.)
Or "Poor Jud Is Daid." That oughta leave 'em rolling in the aisles.
I would second and say Lily's Eyes, it is a great song with lots of emotion.
How about 'Live With Somebody You Love' from Martin Guerre. That has to be one of my all time favourite male duets.
There are a couple threads about this on the student board that you should check out, lots of good suggestions.

Here's an idea - Why don't you transpose "Who Will Love me As I am" up a third and do that. I think that would be pretty cool. you'd have to change the monogram lyrics to "their" instead of "my". there might be some more, but talk about a roof raiser. "Lily's Eyes" is still pretty hard to beat.

Even though it is not a duet, you could do "The Impossible Dream (The Quest)."
if you can find it...try "infinite eyes" from michael john lachiusa's "the highest yellow". perhaps one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. few have ever had the privilege of hearing it and so you're safe of it being "overdone." if you can find it, you're golden!! happy hunting!!
Here are two contrasting duets to think about:
"The Proposal/The Night was Alive" from Titanic
"Brush Up Your Shakespeare" from Kiss Me, Kate -now this song will definitely have 'em rolling in the aisles (especially if you can work in the encores!)
If you want something really challenging there is "The Riddle Song" from Floyd Collins. "Icarus" from Myths and Hymns was done as a duet on the recording--but I can't remember if it is written that way in the vocal selections book or as a solo. Two challenging duets from Adam Guettel.

I think my favorite is The Impossible Dream
"I'd rather be sailing" is a great guy duet from A NEW BRAIN. But you have to be pretty self secure because it might seem a little like a love song, but in the lyrics it is NOT.
