Just an fyi, I saw Barrett in Cupid and Psyche and I knew (actually my best friend tapped me and said- the angel is going to be a star)
Hope he gets his own role. He deserves the WORLD.

You'd be suprised at what physical types work for what role. It's amazing what good acting, makeup and costuming can do. Todd Buonapane, if compared to the current Broadway cast, only shares a figure with Josh Gad. But he understudies Leaf, Chip, and Panch as well. Jose Llana, as Chip, is a beautiful man, but onstage he looks dorky and young. I could see Foa understudying Leaf and Chip.

Barrett has said many times that his next step is to create an original role on Broadway.
Besides, why would he leave a leading role on Broadway to replace a supporting role?

He's replacing Jesse Tyler Ferguson(sp)...as far as his Q replacement,as the entire creative staff is in London ,I wouldn't be surprised if Howie is bumped up or 1 of the Vegas Princeton/Rod's being asked.

I could see him replacing Jesse. When I first heard Jesse, I thought, "Wow, he'd be a great Rod/Princeton."

It's now "official" that Barrett will be taking over the role of Coneybear in Spelling Bee. In his bio for the NEO2 concert last night, it said that he will be assuming the role of Coneybear on July 11

I find it a bit weird for him to be playing Leaf, but I guess you're right that makeup and costumes and the ability to character act can go a LONG way..
