Hi, I'm sorry if this is completely wrong or if my mind is in the trash, but in the song "Inside your Heart" from BatBoy, does it have a sexual connotation? ie. the lyrics,
"Now you're scared; you're in need.
Clearly someone has to bleed.
I'll repay all you gave- I will give you what you crave.
Let me prove I love you; let me become part of you.
I see no better way to start!"

Do you know Bat Boy at all? There are all sorts of innuendos throughout!

That's probably the one song I don't take as 'dirty'. Hm.
Yea I'm with Up In Won..
Shelly is actually telling him to suck blood out of her arm so he can live and be ok.. and everyone thinks him drinking there blood is killing people so she is saying she's not scared of hem.. she loves him..
For the London production, 'Inside your heart' has been replaced by a song called 'Mine All Mine', although they have re-used some of the formers lyrics. There is also the line "You'll spend your life on my arm" which makes it pretty clear that Shelly's talking about her providing Bat Boy with blood.

Even if it was about sex why does that make it "dirty" ?
Sex is lovely and nothing to be ashamed of..
Because America is reverting to the Eisenhower era of prudishness and stupidity when it comes to sex.
"Sex is lovely and nothing to be ashamed of.."
Try telling that to Bush.
The last thing I am is prude, dirty is just an adjective that would attract readers. And thanks, sorry I don't know the show that well; now it makes sense!
Everything has innuendo and sexual connotation if you read into it.
I've heard dirtier than Bat Boy. Try some Cole Porter.
Maybe it's just me, but when I hear the line "Clearly someone has to bleed" I dont immediately think SEX.
Maybe Im just not having sex with the right people lol
When reading this thread title, I can't get the voice of Karen from W&G out of my head saying, "Are you a dirty bat boy? Yeah...you're a dirty little bat boy. Squeak for me, bat boy. That's right! Louder!"
Did this happen to anyone else?

I got the CD off of dress circle, a store in London where the Bat Boy website said it was being released, and it cost me thirty-something. Anyway, the CD's longer and includes a lot of the dialogue in the songs (i.e. all the dialogue between the lyrics in "Hold Me Bat Boy") but, in my opinion, the rap is ruined b/c a lot of the lyrics were changed around. However, I do like "Mine All Mine" but not as much as "Inside Your Heart"
Then again, I am very partial to Kerry Butler. Also, Devon May being on the recording is great!
If anybody wants, I'm willing to send "Mine All Mine" just so you can hear it. After a while of listening to it, it has grown on me!

I have both recordings of the show and I WAY prefer the OLC. Mine All Mine is electric (although its effect is somewhat subdued if you haven't seen it on stage). I'd get both, but if you can only get one, get the OLC. Kerry Butler is great!

Someone has never heard or seen the song "Children, Children" where people come out in animal suits and hump each other. You just have to love the musical for what it is worth. There are plenty of sexual connotations, but you just have to accept them. It's what makes the show funny!
There is some kinky **** going down in your sex life Barnaby...
