It comes down to your personal preference in archeticture, ambiance and style. You practically have to drag me into the Gershwin, but I would go see a bad show at the New Amsterdam. Art Nouvea, Art Decco, Georgian we've got it all in NYC. Howver, my favorite, above all, is the Eugene O'Neill. I may be crippled by bias with my choice as I am the House Property man there.

Has the O'Neil retained the odor of Frankincense?
I love that scent and the use of it heightened my level of pleasure while watching NINE.

That was only used for "Nine", we burned it at the end of ActI.

So the scent has not lingered?
Sometimes incense seeps into the walls.

since the Al Hirschfeld(old Martin Beck) was redone,
it is quite cozy.

comfy chairs though, there wasnt alot of room
to exit the rows during intermission.

I am not myself, but i become a character in itself, to only hope that my transformation is not of me, but of whom i characterize myself to be..

I don't like some of the seats upstairs at the O'Neill. Absolutely NO place to put your legs. I know your ticket entitles you to a seat but I really do think that for the prices they charge, at least a tiny bit of leg room should be included!

Enough of that. I do love the architecture of all the beautiful old houses. One of my favorites is the Lyceum. Something about that place always reminds me of beautiful old Victorian jewelry.

Well sometimes a theater can cause you discomfort and then you don't enjoy the production you're there to see.

And hang on, when did you win the discus?

The most uncomfortable seats have got to be the balcony of the Belasco. The seats are half the size of airline seats and hard as a rock.
And God forbid you end up sitting next to a bigger person at any theatre, they'll be on your lap. I can't believe that with all the remodeling all these theatres have done, they've kept the same seats they used when they first opened their doors.

I don't like the seats anywhere in the O'Neill. It's like a budget airline - no room.

Faced with these Loreleis, what man can moralize!
