Hi.
I have 2 questions.

I plan to go to "Beauty and the Beast" in a few days.
Did someone go to it on the day John Tartaglia didn't appear?
I'd like to see him so much.

And which seat area do you recommend to see this show?

Thank you.

John's contracted to be there for another five months and unless he's sick he should still be in the show

I'd recommend orchestra for the show if you can, some people have commented on the special effects not looking so hot from the mezz

Have fun! re: Beauty and the Beast Question

Thank you for your responce.
Do you mean that he appears every time unless he is sick?
It sounds great!

And I'll try to find orchestra seat.

I've head something about standing room, and I'm wondering if anyone can confirm:

Someone told me that you had to be over a certain height (I think it was 5'3") for standing room, because there's a wall or something to that effect. Is that true?

i've seen beauty and the beast many times and to the best of my knowledge, they don't do standing room. i could be wrong but i don't think it's there...
and yes i agree - do your best to get orchestra seats...there are many special effects that really enhance the show and are best seen from the orchestra or front row or two of the mezz.

Dumb question, but what exactly is standing room?

Definetely as close as you can to the stage, NOT mezz!

standing room is exactly what it says - standing to watch the show. if a show is sold out, some theatres sell standing room tickets (in the way back of the orchestra) for anywhere from $15-$26.50. for most shows, it's worth it...just depends on the theatre.

Jess- Unless they've stopped recently, they do sell SR.

Heather,

I just found out that John's actually out of the show this week till the weekend due to some promotional things with "The Sprites"

I don't know how much this interfers with your plans, but you may want to wait till next week if you you'd like to see him specifically

I sat in the 3rd row of the center mezzanine and it was great.

I tried the boxes in act two and I thought those were better. I've seen it many times from the orch. and I liked my experience in the mezz a lot better.

I personally think the best seat in the whole house is front row of the mezz The castle is high, and in mezz you're not too close in the orch to be looking up constantly and not stuck behind people's heads. Best of both worlds for me. Plus I felt on top of the stage in the front mezz--even moreso than in the Imperial, which I wasn't sure was possible.

I never sat in the orchestra for this show...I've sat in the rear mezz. You can't make out facial expressions well, but you get to see everything as a whole, and it's great!
