Here's an interesting find. An early (78 rpm) recording by Loudon. (To play the recording you'll see audio controls in the upper right hand corner of the page.)

Love her. A true talent and class act.

I am bumping this thread because I just watched the Broadway Baby song. Seriously I never thought of the line "someday maybe, if I stick it long enough" that way...BRILLIANT!
Oh, I wanna be her.

I love that she actually hated children (Although, from some of what I've read, she and Andrea got along sort of).
Maybe Jackie Hoffman should play Hannigan.

Best thread ever.
Hahaha. I didn't realize she hated kids. We have something in common.

What a way to start my Sunday. I saw her in Ballroom and Sweeney Todd. Truly a pro.
Oooooohhh! A NEW one!

What a treat! She is incredible.
This seems like a fine place to bookmark this:

Kristie, I didn't think the show worked. I loved Michael Bennett with a passion, but all that swirling on the dance floor lost the center of focus during the dance numbers somewhere in the middle of the ensemble (instead of presenting it to the audience). Kudos to Bennett for trying something different, but it was rather like watching a musical from the wings: interesting rather than exciting.
HOWEVER, Loudon was not just excellent, she was a revelation to those of us who only knew her in comic roles. I never get tired of her "50 Percent"!

THANK YOU, joey. "Vodka" goes right into her "Broadway Baby" at the Tonys. The latter is perhaps the hardest she ever made me laugh. (The OP's link has been taken down.)
From Fig Leaves are Falling. Performed at Happy Birthday Mr. Abbott.
Ms. Louden came to sing with us when I was a charter member of the NYC Gay Men's Chorus many years ago at Carnegie Hall. Arrived at the dress rehearsal looking like a bag lady, marked her way through her song (Jerry Herman's comic insult song, "Have a Nice Day" and out she went. She returned at curtain time, glam as all get out, did the song with us, and then knocked everyone out of their seats with "Time Heals Everything." Musical theatre heaven!
