Behind-the-scenes glimpse?

Hey all,
Anyone know of any great books or documentaries that offer a real behind-the-scenes glimpse and feel of what it's like to be an actor on Broadway? I am so curious about what they go through, the sacrifices, joys, challenges, etc. I'd love to read about what it's like for them at various stages of careers and levels of fame. Thanks in advance!

You might want to change your thread title to make your request clearer. Like "Behind the scenes book and doc recommendations". I almost didn't open the thread.

Thanks, ghostlight2. Next time I will be more specific in my subject line. Meanwhile, thanks to the link you provided, I think I'm all set for the moment. Seems like the responses there provide an awfully good start. Much-appreciated :)

You're welcome. For future reference, you can change your subject line by using the edit button. Also, while the search function here isn't the best, I know there are several other threads on the subject if you have the time to look - I just linked you to the 1st one that popped up.

There's even two long threads about just one of the books, called Making It on Broadway. It was a little controversial when it first came out for its overwhelmingly negative skew on actors' lives. I personally didn't care for it because it cherry-picked from actors' quotes to get the darker tales, but others loved it.
