What are the seats like at the Belasco Theatre? I want to get tickets for me and my mom but I read the article in the New York Times about uncomfortable theatre seats and it mentioned The Belasco. My mom is rather heavy and I don't want to get tickets if she is going to be real uncomforatble. Any advice?

The seats at the Belasco are no better or worse than any other theatre. I will say this, though... for Dracula you NEED to get seats in the center orchestra. I'm usually very big on the front mezz, but I swear no one on the production team bothered to check sightlines from anywhere but the center orch. If you're anywhere else all the effects are ruined by being able to see into the wings & down trap doors.

I was in the center orch. the first time i saw it, and then i was in the front row of the mezz. It gave away almost 30% of the effects, but still, amazing show.

opus,
if she's really heavy they have handicapped seats-the theatre will work w/you...but the seats are the same size anywhere in the theatre...in mild disagreement w/lc....suspend your disbelief if you can't afford better seats...but by all means,go...the show is worth seeing, and you will have bragging rights the rest of your life...
