Well-----I didn't expect it, but Ben B. really enjoyed Brooke's performance in WT. I thought after his glowing review of Donna M. that he would be disappointed with anyone else playing the part of Ruth----but today's NY Times printed a glowing article. I'm still not sure if I want to see her ---- I still have Donna's performance in my head and I think I want to leave it at that. We'll see.
It seems kind of suspect since Brooke just started in the show.
Not that suspect given that Brooke's offical opening was last Thursday.
God Bless America, and every PAPER THAT LOVED BROOKE! Ha! I told you all LONG AGO, that Brooke would be great, and now even Brantley agrees!

Many people have enjoyed Brooke. See...listen to others and you do not get to see a great performance.
Well, I will eat my words. I thought she would bomb. Good for Brooke, and good for the cast and crew of Wonderful Town.
Bump
Dottie stands corrected. I didn't realize they had an official opening for her. I'm glad she was received very well though.
She also had positive notices in the Post, Newsday and Daily News.
That woman totally ruined Cabaret for me. She couldn't sing or act to save her life.
Well, apparently she ROCKS at Wonderful Town! Sure, shes not the best singer, but she pulls it off! The Nathan Lane of her time (Yes, I did just compare Brooke Shields to Nathan Lane)
I'm glad she is good in Wonderful Town. I had the misfortune to see her do Cabaret. She was so bad, my friend and laughed all the way through it.
